Sky Angel has released a new software update for the Sky Angel receiver!

How Do I Get The Update?

You don't have to do anything in order to get the new software ugprade!
You can check your receiver's current software version on the Advanced Configuration screen. The current software version is displayed at the bottom of that screen. The current version will read 2.6.0 if your receiver has been updated. The Sky Angel receiver will automatically download and apply this new upgrade.

Features Added In New Upgrade (2.6.0)

• Screen Saver Options - There is now an option to enable/disable the screensaver.
  This option is located under Advanced Configuration:



NOTE: Another feature was recently added that allows you to remove channels from the channel line-up.

Features Added In Last Upgrade (2.5.6)

• Screen saver - The Sky Angel receiver will now display a screen saver if a static menu page is shown for longer than four minutes. The screen saver will also activate if you are listening to a radio channel. The radio channel can still be heard, but the screensaver will be displayed to protect your television screen. The screensaver will not activate if a television channel or Video on Demand title is being watched.




• Sleep Mode - Sleep mode can automatically stop your programming if you plan on leaving or possibly going to sleep with the television playing. The sleep mode will prompt the viewer with a dialog window after four hours of uninterrupted viewing. The viewer must press the PLAY button to continue viewing, otherwise Sleep Mode will stop the programming. To use Sleep Mode you must activate it on the Advanced Configuration menu screen.




• Previous Button - The Previous button (PREV) will now return you to a previously watched program, as long as it was the last program viewed. This includes live channels, recalled programs from the 48-hour Playback feature, or Video on Demand titles. If you accidentally stop a program or you need to step out for a moment, pressing PREV on the remote will return you to the last program viewed. This feature only works if a new video or radio program has not been started. The Previous button (PREV) is located to the right of the SETUP button on the Sky Angel remote.


• Closed Captioning - Closed Captioning is now available. You must enable Closed Captioning on your television in order to use it.

Changes Made In New Upgrade (2.6.0)

• Boot Screen - The booting screen has changed.
  You will now see a screen which says |Experience The Difference|.



• Channel Number Color - The channel numbers on the program guide have been changed to white. This should make the numbers easier to read.

Changes Made In Last Upgrade (2.5.6)

There were several changes in appearance that come along with the software upgrade. The changes are listed below:

• Splash Screens - you will notice a pleasant new Sky Angel logo as the Sky Angel receiver boots up or shuts down. This logo replaces the old NeuLion logo.
  
  
• Retrieving Message - You will never see the buffering message again. If your internet connection drops below the minimum required bandwidth level or you experience a network interruption you will now see a Retrieving message. This indicates the Sky Angel box is working to retrieve the programming.
